We brought the tools from our National Junior where we did well to the Singapore Open. Against an International field we found that we did not have the game to succeed. We got a "lucky" break when Mark was only fielded once during the Mal/Singapore. I told Mark that this was an opportunity to observe as the 3rd party.
Look at the strategies the other players were using. Compare it with our own arsenal. Measure the gap and see what needs to be improved, repaired. What assumptions we need to discard.
Back to the drawing board. Chess is a beautiful game. It's about learning to change.
