Cari makan thinking

Or hand to mouth thinking. If we look closely this is what we will see. The scramble is for who will control the cari makan activities in MCF. That is because most officials are still trying to cari makan although they try to convince you that they are doing it for the love of chess which is only partially true.

It's difficult to think of Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) or NGO responsibility when you are in that situation. The bills are coming in too quickly. So if we want a solution, we either elect people who do not need to cari makan or we find a way to pay them so they do not need to cari makan.

Of course this also means we need to have the right people. Some will still cari makan when they have enough. This seems to me to be a fundamental problem that needs to be solved or we will still be baying at the moon 30 years from now.

You see cari makan thinkers dont think on what to build, what they are going to leave behind. They have no long term plans; they are just trying to survive. That is their imperative.

So this is a principal contradiction. On the one hand we want progress, development and on the other we do not have the structure or the the officials that can support that. More thought needs to be focussed on this.
