An unprocessed past is called baggage. It manifests itself in the present as chatter. So assuming your loss in a tournament is not caused by "a lack of technical" knowledge but a failure in courage or too much chatter, then you have to examine the cause of that.
So you examine all the evidence that lead to that problem and not go to "technical" when the problem isnt there. You evaluate and then you synthesize. You now have an interim conclusion. A working hypothesis.
You then test that in the present. The present is all you have to change things. If you were diligent and your conclusions valid, then change will happen. The chatter, the noise will stop. If not you re-examine again.
The future has not happened yet. The future is unveiled by what you do in the present. Ergo, you have to do in the present or change wont come. You have to make your next move.
Examine what I have said in your next chess game, your next tournament.

Say the MCF yields. What next? Who should be the next person in charge? What is the alternative? You have yet to address this issue. You are just calling for change for the sake of change. It could be worse.
ReplyDeleteI am merely digging out all the worms so that we can all formulate a viable alternative.
You are fighting demons. Where do you see me asking for a change in personnel? We are just sending a message for change. This is not directed against anyone. We are just asking for a change in behaviour. MCF is not stupid, Greg and Hamid are intelligent people. In fact I'll go one step further. They are nice people, good people. But like most people they wont change unless they have to.
ReplyDeleteYou must be joking. I will give you the fact that they are intelligent. But only because they have managed to smokescreen you and everyone else for the longest time.
ReplyDeleteClearly you have learnt nothing about Hamid in your seven years of "studying chess". You are obviously not involved enough. Ask anyone who has "been there". You will get your facts. Or you may not. Since most of these people are apathetic by now.
I can assure you NOTHING will change if Hamid is still very much in the chess scene. Stop lying to yourself and to the chess folk. You are a typical example of the self-denying Malaysians that I am talking about.
You are right. I am fighting demons. One of them is called Hamid. Hamid has been through GENERATIONS of chess parents like yourself. He has been there "forever". Go ahead and ask for a change in behavior. It is like asking a dog to walk on 2 legs. Even if he can do it, it will be temporary and for your entertainment. Sooner or later, a dog will walk on 4 legs, because that is just the way it is.
People can change my friend if you give them a chance. Just look at current evidence. Dont keep dragging up the past. Stay in the here and now. Work in the present. See what is right and change what is wrong.
