How hard is it to become an Olympian?

I understand Chess is trying to become an Olympic sport. But lets look at the comparative cultures between the Olympics and Chess as experienced in Malaysia. This too is competitor analysis.

I have been following with interest how China responded to the misconduct of their players in Badminton. The players had to apologise to the entire Nation. To me this shows they acknowledge that match fixing is wrong. And once this is revealed they take appropriate action to correct it.

In Malaysian chess you are rewarded for misconduct. You now get to represent in the Chess Olympiad without contest. Isn't there something wrong here? We keep shouting for that GM but we won't lift a finger to change things. To make that dream come true, we need to wake up. How lah?
