If you are a little tired from my story telling and want to get back to the real world of chess for a breather. Check out Firey Rook's site. He is covering the World Team chess championship in Turkey now.

  1. Raymond,

It has been a while since we left the chess scene in Malaysia, its hard for me to know what is happening. Well, from my experience with the chess scene previously, I am not too surprise at your last post. Its good for you to write provocatively and openly at what happened in Perak, perhaps it would create more awareness and insights of those who wants to cling on to power for their benefit. I think not only in Perak but other States too. You know what I am talking about. We have discussed some issues before I left. So far, has it made any difference???

  2. I hope so Cheng Ai. That is what keeps me writing. I hope to persuade those who hold public office that only by serving can the first GM come about. Abuse of power and authority can only serve to divide and weaken. We need to clean house before any promotion of chess can really succeed. What is the point of bringing in talented players only to see them leave because our house is not in order? Thank you for writing.
